It’s that time of the year when things can get a bit crazy! If you live in New Orleans you are about to be thrust head and chest first into Mardi Gras mania. Beforehand, every State will be swimming in beer, chips, dips and guacamole to the super bowl-bound-sofa of neighbours and friends!
Super Bowl night is a night I miss; a supremely innocent and fun night for pool parties, and splashing out on new Crate & Barrel table ware essentials! Experience has taught a valuable lesson and so a word of caution…. “neither of these February frolics is a safe place for your dearest hobo, tote, clutch or vintage handbag to make an appearance”!
The only little french number you’ll need down town at Mardi Gras is a plate of beignets! If Bourbon Street is your destination leave your Boogie, Bayswater or Baguette (unless hungry) in the hotel. Your Balenciaga may come in handy for balancing beads – purple, gold and green!
For a night at the neighbours I recommend something green and flourishing from Woolly Vagabond as your saving grace – it’s your ready made pot plant – a home for that unwanted stale beer!
Not one to be a kill-joy – whichever February treat you indulge in – may you, and your bag rest free from crumbs, calories and King Cake with hidden babies – or next year you’ll be the “hostess with the mostest” and then who’ll save your bag collection from the prying eyes of wondering women?
